| Shoreline Management Plan |
The shoreline management plan is a comprehensive plan intended to manage the multiple resources and uses of the lakes’ shorelines so that they are consistent with AEP’s Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) license requirements and project purposes. The Shoreline Management Plan is being reviewed by the FERC. AEP began implementing the new regulations for those activities for which it is currently authorized to issue permits for as of September 2, 2003. Those activities include
- landscape plantings
- noncommercial piers, landings, boat docks, or similar structures andfacilities that can accommodate no more then 10 watercraft at a time and serve single-family type dwellings
- structures for erosion control
